And you knew which phone it was. So when the time came to renew your Yellow Pages ad, all the sales rep had to do was glance over at the phone on the wall and the prospect would imagine that phone no longer ringing... For those of you who aren't in the know, Kildeers are a species of bird that lives in our desert--more browser statistics pecifically, our driveway. And they were out there having a wild party at 11:00 pm again last night. I'm just wondering, when Kildeers go south for the winter--do they party all night? Or is only in the north that they cut loose? Warped and twisted minds want to know.

Here is a recent conversation I had with a fellow mother. Kathy: ‘I was at a conference in Carmel and the woman was talking to us about child raising. She posed the question, “What is the most important trait or value for your child to have?” Beth, what would you say?' Beth: ‘Love for others.’ Kathy: ‘Oh, now I would have thought that you would have gotten it right. I never answer these questions in a group. But this time I raised my hand and said, “Self-esteem”. And the psychologist said, “Right”.’ I know I am totally out of the loop these days, but hasn’t the ‘self-esteem’ worship gone out the window? All the studies I have read say that children who are failing in school still exhibit files ery high views of themselves as students. ‘I’m as good as he is.’ Americans on average think they are above-average. It seems that one needs to teach children, “God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.” We are all loved ‘equally’ by God - since He is immeasurable there really can’t be a ‘he got a bigger piece’ argument! Then one can distinguish between being a better soccer player, or a better math or French student, without diminishing one’s fundamental standing in the universe.
